born and raised in lawrence, kansas, maddie’s multidisciplinary work is inspired by her relationship with the people she loves, nature, fertility and motherhood, and a firm rejection of the idea that good art is not to be touched.

maddie graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and k-12 art education from north park university in chicago, il in 2017. she is currently pursuing a master’s degree in curriculum design and instructional coaching at emporia state university.

she is currently a full-time educator for west Linn-wilsonville public schools where she teaches textile arts, drawing, painting, and sculpture. she was previously a full time art educator in portland public schools and chicago public schools, teaching a wide variety of media. when she is not teaching or making art, maddie is running a small clothing studio with her two childhood best friends.

maddie lives in portland, or. she currently has work in the permanent collection of her parents and grand parents :)
